Football fanatics and global betting company 1xBet are as interested as everybody else in the red-hot debate over who will succeed the legendary Jurgen Klopp as the next Liverpool FC manager.

Klopp will leave Liverpool at the conclusion of the current 2023/24 season, and speculation about who will replace the German is across all sports media. The analysts at 1xBet have conducted their own review.

Although there are more than 30 candidates on the general list, 1xBet believe that this dream contract will most likely be offered to one of the three leading favourites, Xabi Alonso, Ruben Amorim and Roberto De Zerbi.

Many believe that confirmation of Alonso’s move from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool is merely a matter of time. He enjoyed five successful seasons in Liverpool as a player and knows the club from the inside. Under his leadership, Leverkusen play dynamic and effective football, currently leading the German Bundesliga. succeeding in all tournaments.

With both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich also believed to be courting the charismatic Spaniard, the Liverpool fans’ favourite can certainly keep his options open for some time yet.

Ruben Amorim’s entire football career has been spent in his home country, as both a player and now Head Coach at  Sporting Lisbon. In 2021, his ‘lions’ won the Primeira Liga Gold Medal for the first time in 20 years.

But, when considering his candidacy for one of the biggest jobs in the world game, there are more questions than answers. He has absolutely no international experience; his level of spoken English may be inadequate; and Sporting’s achievements are modest when set against one of the strongest clubs in the world, playing in one of the world’s most physically and tactically demanding domestic leagues.

Whilst De Zerbi’s coaching career appears to be on an upward trajectory, joining Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022 and, in his first season, leading them to 6th position and Europa League qualification, his candidacy also has question marks hanging over it.

He is unaccustomed to working with elite players and with a vast budget. He has had seven coaching positions in just 10 seasons, having represented 14 clubs in 15 seasons as a player. The feisty Italian’s ease of ‘mobility’ may not work for an ownership and fan base that expects total dedication and loyalty.

All three of these leading candidates are part of ‘new wave’ of head coaches whose most successful years should be in front of them. Which of them, if any, is unveiled as the man to follow the amazing achievements of ‘the normal one’ will keep fans around the world chattering for several months yet.

Football is the world’s No.1 spectator sport; it is the world’s most exciting sports betting opportunity; it is hugely popular in the world’s most exciting sports betting markets; and 1xBet and the 1xPartners Affiliate Program are at the forefront of this opportunity.
