Issued by Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), 888 has secured a new iGaming license in the Canadian province, in preparation for next month’s opening of its legal online gambling market.

This latest license will enable 888 to offer online casino, sport betting and poker products to the players of Ontario and brings the total number of locally regulated markets in which 888 is licensed to 19, including seven US states.

Itai Pazner, Chief Executive of 888, says: “As a group, our focus is on strengthening our presence and offer to customers across key regulated markets. To that end, Ontario represents an attractive long-term growth opportunity for 888 and this is an extremely strategically important milestone for us. As we prepare for launch in the coming weeks, we are excited to bring all of 888’s leading products and games to new audiences across the province, providing our unique and differentiated experiences to players.”

In January, iGaming Ontario (iGO) the subsidiary of AGCO subsidiary responsible for overseeing this new market, confirmed that Ontario’s legal iGaming market will open on April 4th 2022, concluding a process that began three years ago when the provincial government first announced plans to end Ontario Lottery & Gaming Corporation’s iGaming monopoly.
