Following last Friday’s vote by the Nebraska Racing & Gaming Commission to approve rules for casinos at the State’s horse racing tracks, all six tracks in Nevada will seek to add casinos to their locations.
Dennis Lee, Chairman of the Nebraska Commission, described the vote as “kind of a very historic moment today in the history of Nebraska racing.”
Voters in Nebraska first approved a constitutional amendment allowing casinos at the racetracks in November 2020. The six tracks in the State are located in Lincoln, Omaha, South Sioux City, Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings. Prior to finally becoming effective, the new rules have to be signed off by the State Attorney General and the Governor, and finally the Secretary of State.
