Game developer, Boldplay, has secured a Notice of Recognition from the Malta Gaming Authority.

Working in much the same way as full authorisation from the regulator, this Notice essentially acknowledges that a supplier provides appropriate safeguards that are largely equivalent to those required by Maltese law, thereby allowing it to offer its products to MGA-licensed operators.

Having previously acquired gaming licences in Gibraltar and Romania, Boldplay’s software was deemed by the MGA to have fulfilled the necessary criteria to provide services in the jurisdiction.

This means that in addition to creating future partnership options with MGA-licensed operators, even more customers in regulated markets will now be able to sample an extensive range of Boldplay’s premium casino products, including slots, table games, keno, bingo and virtual scratch cards.

Boldplay’s games are known in the industry for engaging themes and exciting gameplay. Recent releases include Cyborg City and Warriors & Warlocks, the first Boldplay slot to use a unique dual reel feature.

Boldplay CEO, Valli Fragoso, said: “Acquiring this approval from the Malta Gaming Authority is a hugely important step for Boldplay that will enable us to share our diverse range of products with all locally licensed operators.

“The Recognition Notice will sit alongside our existing Gibraltar and Romania licences and allow us to further establish the Boldplay brand in regulated markets across Europe.

“We are immensely proud to have been granted the opportunity to begin working in the jurisdiction and are looking forward to seeing our games appear in MGA-licensed operators’ lobbies very shortly.”
