Last month saw the official opening of Casino Marina Beira, the operator’s second casino operation in Mozambique’s fourth city, the capital of Sofala Province.
The opening was attended by officials from the Mozambique Gaming Board, the CEO of Casino Marina and Rank Entertainment Holdings, Asanga Warusavitharna, and other invited guests. Spread over two floors, the company’s first slots-only operation offers a reception, bar and restaurant downstairs, with slots and VIP areas upstairs. Equipment includes 40 slot machines plus electronic roulette.
Leon Benade, General Manager of Casino Marina Beira, commented: “This is our second operation in the city, with the main casino being located at the Golden Peacock Resort Hotel. It is our fourth Casino Marina operation to open in Mozambique, making our group the country’s largest operator.
“We also have two new casino projects planned for Mozambique, and three more planned for the African continent in Ivory Coast, Congo and Tonga.”
