A pub operator in the Thai resort of Pattaya has been arrested for alleged involvement in both an online gambling operation and the illicit drug trade.
Nitiphat Chokchaithanaporn, owner of the intriguingly named Bone Pub, was arrested following a raid on April 22nd, with police seizing illicit drugs and arresting 22 Thais and Chinese nationals.
A search of five further properties revealed that the venues were used for operating an online gambling website, Bone1688, in which Nitiphat is involved and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
In addition, the pub owner is also said to be involved in the manufacture of ‘Happy Water’, a new and illegal narcotic cocktail that is now widespread in Thai nightspots. The cocktail drug is made by dissolving a combination of ecstasy, methamphetamine, diazepam, caffeine and tramadol in hot water and then mixing this potent concoction with sweetened drinks.
