SBC Summit Canada is set to return to Toronto, marking a pivotal moment for the nation’s betting and gaming industry. The event takes place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from May 19th to 21st, bringing together over 3,000 stakeholders to explore the future of the sector.
This year’s Summit is the first under its new name, following a rebrand from the Canadian Gaming Summit, and will address significant developments in the industry.
Alberta’s upcoming regulated market launch in June has operators, affiliates and suppliers eagerly positioning themselves in what is anticipated to be a key North American gaming jurisdiction.
Additionally, the 2026 FIFA World Cup offers sportsbooks an opportunity to capitalise on increasing interest in soccer.
The Summit Agenda is divided into three stages, focusing on leadership, sports betting, compliance and more. Noteworthy tracks include The Cybersecurity in Gaming Summit, presented by OLG, which will explore operator responses to digital threats and AI risks, and the Player Protection Symposium, which will discuss enhanced safety measures for users.
Throughout the event, sessions will delve into strategies for converting World Cup engagement into sustained player retention and adapting to regulatory changes, including Bill S-211 and Alberta’s new market. Furthermore, masterclasses from IMGL will examine grey market activities in Canada, and workshops led by Lucien Wijsman will focus on player behaviour and casino strategies.
Over two days, delegates will hear from over 150 industry leaders. Notable speakers include Duncan Hannay (President, OLG), Nell Watson (Chief Scientist, EthicsNet/Creed Space) and Dale Nally (Minister of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction).
The Summit will also feature a diverse exhibition show floor.
Rasmus Sojmark, Founder & CEO of SBC, says, “There is enormous momentum around the Canadian gaming industry right now, and this is reflected in both the quality of the agenda and the calibre of companies and speakers joining us in Toronto next week.”
Networking opportunities abound, with highlights such as the Global Gaming Women Breakfast and First Nations Breakfast. VIP Event Pass holders can enjoy exclusive evening events, including the SBC Summit Canada Opening Party and Official Networking Party.
