Along with other changes to its gambling legislation, the Swedish Riksdag has approved a proposal to introduce new online gambling supplier licences in the country.
The new B2B software licences will be required from July 1st, 2023 and the regulator, Spelinspektionen, has confirmed that the application process will open on March 1st, 2023.
The application fee has been set at SEK120,000 (€10,000) and the regulator expects to initially issue around 70 licences.
The new government Bill also contains measures to exclude unlicensed gambling, as well as expansion of the existing prohibition on promoting and advertising unlicensed gaming.
