A survey by Dubai Casinos has unveiled a spectrum of opinions among UAE residents regarding the anticipated impact of the Wynn Resorts project in Ras Al Khaimah.
With responses gathered from 2,000 participants over six months, a sizeable portion of respondents (81%) were from Ras Al Khaimah, indicating strong local interest and engagement.
Scheduled to open in 2026 on Marjan Island, this development marks a significant milestone in the region’s tourism and entertainment scene.
Key Concerns:
34% of respondents expressed concerns about potential social impacts, such as gambling addiction, associated with the introduction of the casino.
28% prioritise preserving local cultural integrity amidst the development, advocating for sustainable growth that respects traditional values.
Key Expectations:
56% of participants believe the project will substantially boost tourism revenue and create employment opportunities, reflecting positive economic expectations.
60% anticipate a notable increase in local real estate prices due to the Wynn Resorts development, signalling confidence in its economic ripple effects.
Although the introduction of the casino remains a sensitive topic in the UAE, over half (54%) of respondents recognise that this market will attract new tourists interested in casino gaming, aiming to boost local tourism and economic growth.
