SBC Summit is set to delve into the practical applications of Web3 and cryptocurrency, focusing on their implications for payments, security and player trust. The Web3 & Crypto Academy, part of the Summit’s Education+ programme, aims to equip industry professionals with the skills needed for effective adoption of these technologies.
Scheduled for September 30th, at the Sala Tejo, MEO Arena, the Academy will host experts and industry leaders to discuss the tangible benefits of Web3. The event will include workshops, case studies, demonstrations and discussions addressing the integration of crypto payments and blockchain technology in gambling.
Rasmus Sojmark, Founder & CEO of SBC, says: “In an industry as competitive as ours, it is often the small things that have the biggest impact. Web3 and crypto can offer this advantage, whether it is speeding up payments, expanding offerings or building greater player trust.
“What is so unique about this Academy is that it moves beyond discussing potential. It is about showing attendees where Web3 and crypto payments can add real value and giving them the practical knowledge to start applying it within their own businesses.”
The Academy will begin with the presentation Crypto, Blockchain & Gambling: Where Are We Now? led by Simit Naik of Teronade Group, exploring the current value delivered by Web3, and the potential future roles of crypto and blockchain in gambling. Following this, the session Crypto Payments in Regulated Markets: Hype or Reality? will feature Anthony Day, Dinis Guarda, Aaron Sanchez and Dereck Hoogenkamp, moderated by Udo Seckelmann. They will discuss the integration of crypto payments alongside traditional methods in regulated markets.
A live demonstration titled Provably Fair: Can Players Really Verify Every Outcome? by Ulle Skottling will showcase blockchain verification, comparing traditional random number generators with on-chain verification for enhanced transparency in gaming.
The Academy will conclude with a workshop on Building Hybrid Gambling Platforms: Where Web2 Meets Web3, presented by Gene Deyev and Brett Calapp. This session will demonstrate how Web3 technology can be integrated into existing platforms using real-world examples.
A fireside chat, Trust on the Chain: Does Blockchain Really Make Gaming Fair?, will further explore blockchain’s impact on fairness and trust in gaming.
