Wynn Resorts has moved the expected opening of Wynn Al Marjan Island to September 2027, while reporting second-quarter revenue growth led by its Macau operations.

The company previously expected the United Arab Emirates’ first licensed casino resort to open during the first quarter of 2027. Its revised timetable moves the anticipated launch approximately six months later. Wynn did not provide a reason for the change.

Craig Billings, chief executive officer of Wynn Resorts, said: “Construction at Wynn Al Marjan Island is progressing at a rapid pace.

Wynn Resorts, alongside our partners in Ras Al Khaimah, are now pleased to announce that Wynn Al Marjan Island will open its doors to guests in September of 2027.”

The resort is being developed through a joint venture involving Wynn Resorts, Marjan and RAK Hospitality Holding. The project received the UAE’s first commercial gaming facility operator licence in October 2024.

Wynn contributed US$48.1m to the 40%-owned joint venture during the second quarter, taking its total cash investment in the development to $1.06bn.

The company has hired 57 employees for the resort during the quarter, increasing its workforce to 425. Senior leaders are now in place across the gaming and non-gaming divisions, while interior construction is continuing following the hotel tower’s completion in December 2025.

Wynn reported group operating revenue of $1.86bn for the three months ending June 30, up from $1.74bn during the corresponding period of 2025.

Net income more than doubled from $66.2m to $140.1m, while adjusted property EBITDAR increased from $552.4m to $568.3m.

Macau produced the largest increase across the group. Wynn Palace revenue rose 21.1% to $653.4m, while adjusted property EBITDAR increased from $157.2m to $201.5m.

Revenue at Wynn Macau increased from $343.8m to $351.1m, although adjusted property EBITDAR declined slightly from $96.5m to $95.5m.

Wynn’s Las Vegas operations generated revenue of $643.2m, but adjusted property EBITDAR fell from $234.8m to $215.2m.
