According to a report by the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM), suppliers play a crucial role in the global gaming industry, contributing nearly $60bn.
The report, entitled Impact Analysis: Global Gaming Supplier Industry, underscores the significant economic contributions of gaming suppliers.
Daron Dorsey, AGEM President & CEO, states: “The gaming supplier industry continues to be a global success story.”
He emphasizes the critical role AGEM’s member companies play in technology and economic development across regulated gaming jurisdictions worldwide. The report notes that the industry’s economic impact remains robust despite global challenges, with suppliers committed to long-term community investment.
In 2023, the gaming supply industry directly generated approximately $23bn in economic output, with a total impact reaching almost $60bn, an 8.1% increase from the previous year. The total value added, including indirect and induced effects, was $32bn, a 7.5% rise from 2022.
Employers in the industry paid close to $10bn in direct wages, contributing to total earnings of $21bn, an 11.8% increase from the previous year.
Suppliers support around 225,000 jobs globally, including 77,000 direct positions.
AGEM represents 135 members from 23 countries, and the report was independently conducted by Nevada research firm Applied Analysis, further validating the industry’s substantial economic contributions.
