BETBY has experienced significant growth in esports betting, evidenced by strong performance in the first half of 2025. The Malta-based company has reported substantial increases in both GGR and number of bets placed, driven by the expansion of its BETBY Games Esports Feed.

BETBY’s active expansion of its footprint in the esports sector is reflected in 153% year-on-year growth in GGR from BETBY.Games and a 57% increase in the number of bets placed. By the end of June, these figures accounted for 14% of the company’s H1 2025 GGR.

According to Statisia, global esports betting revenue reached US$2.5bn in 2024, with 74 million participants in online esports betting. This figure is projected to increase to $2.8bn in 2025.

Markets in Eastern Europe, South America and Asia are particularly strong, though legal challenges persist in some Asian markets. In South Korea, the Korea Esports Association is advocating for legalized esports pool betting.

BETBY also continues to perform well in traditional sports betting, with its H1 2024 sportsbook GGR rising 472%, active players up 211% and total bets increasing 277%, attributed to the appeal of BETBY’s comprehensive sportsbook solution.

Leonid Pertsovskiy, CEO, says: “H1 has been another important step forward for BETBY, with meaningful growth in both our sportsbook and esports verticals.”

Despite a focus on esports, BETBY remains committed to traditional sports, with betting on football in the UK alone reaching £1.1bn last year.

BETBY is also exploring niche sports, as demonstrated by its recent initiative to include chess in the Esports World Cup, showcasing the company’s strategy to bridge esports and traditional sports products.
