Continent 8 Technologies, a leader in managed IT and cybersecurity for the iGaming and online sports betting sectors, recently celebrated 20 years of operation in the Isle of Man. The celebration included a visit from His Excellency Sir John Lorimer, Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man, to their facility in Douglas.
During the visit, Sir John met with the local team and explored Continent 8’s growth from a specialist infrastructure provider to a global technology partner. This event was part of the company’s 20th anniversary celebrations, marking its significant presence in the Isle of Man since establishing its operations in 2006 with a data centre in Douglas.
Founded in 1998, Continent 8 has evolved significantly over the years, now delivering network, connectivity, cloud, cybersecurity and AI-powered solutions to a global clientele. The company employs over 300 professionals worldwide and operates a private network that spans more than 100 locations across Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia.

His Excellency Sir John Lorimer expressed his pleasure at visiting the company, noting its growth from its Island roots to an internationally recognised technology business, saying: “It is a pleasure to visit Continent 8 Technologies and meet the team as the company celebrates 20 years in the Isle of Man.”
He praised Continent 8 for its role in enhancing the Isle’s reputation as a hub for ambitious, globally-focused businesses.
