Danish GGR fell by 18.2% in August

The Spillemyndigheden, the Danish Gambling Authority, has announced the country’s gross gaming revenue for August, which amounted to DKK494m (€66.3m/$76.8m), fell by 18.2% from July and was down by 1.2% compared to August 2020. Sports betting was a significant faller, down to DKK128m from DKK235m in July, a month-on-month decrease of more than 45% and down 26% from August 2020. Online casino GGR fell by just 3.4% over the month but saw an 87.2% rise compared to the previous August. Slot machine revenues 2.7% from July, with land-based casinos showing a 6.4% monthly increase. It was also announced that overall, Danish GGR for the first half of 2021 had grown by 6.4% to DKK2.8bn (€376m/$436m).
