The G2E Asia 2022 event set to relocate from its traditional home of Macau to Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, and will take place from August 24th to 26th and be known as G2E Asia Special Edition: Singapore.
Event organisers Reed Exhibitions and the American Gaming Association announced the relocation this week, confirming what is thought to be a temporary change to an event that was originally scheduled to take place at The Venetian Macao from August 30th to 1 September 1st.
G2E Asia was postponed twice in 2020, before being cancelled altogether. The show was then re-scheduled for May 2021, before being moved to August and then to November, before finally being postponed until August 2022. The decision to relocate to Singapore follows the relaxing of restrictions on fully vaccinated international arrivals April 1st, with visitors needing only to provide a negative PCR test prior to departure.
Show exhibitors based in Macau will still face challenges, not least a 14-day quarantine period, followed by seven days of so-called ‘self-health management’, on their return to Macau. This may result in G2E Asia being smaller than usual, as is the case for this week’s first post-pandemic instalment of ICE London.
