The Merkur Group is advancing its transformation within the gaming sector with new leadership roles, with Benjamin Stegemann and Dubravka Burda appointed to pivotal positions to drive innovation and development at Merkur Games.
Benjamin Stegemann (above) now leads the newly established Future Game Innovation Lab. This division is tasked with identifying early player preferences and developing game concepts that surpass market standards, providing Merkur with a strategic edge.
Stegemann says: “Our ambition is to increasingly set our own game trends. The Future Game Innovation Lab provides the ideal platform to focus on exactly that.”
He will also continue to support the product organisation by enhancing the graphical and audiovisual quality of Merkur’s offerings.
Dubravka Burda (below) steps into her role as SVP Global Studios, overseeing all game design and development studios worldwide. Burda’s extensive experience, including her career beginnings at Atronic and leadership roles at GTech and IGT, positions her well for this responsibility.

Burda expressed enthusiasm for her new role, saying: “I have followed the Merkur Group’s transformation with great interest and close attention. Being able to experience and actively shape this transformation first-hand represents an outstanding opportunity for me; both professionally and personally.”
Dominik Raasch, Management Board Member at Merkur Games, emphasises the significance of these appointments: “Benjamin Stegemann’s exceptional passion for games has injected fresh momentum into our development efforts, while also making a significant contribution to increasing transparency, optimising processes, and fostering closer collaboration across our global game design teams.
“Dubravka Burda is widely recognised as a proven expert in the gaming industry. She is focused on further developing studio structures and processes to enhance the quality and speed of game development.”
Raasch concluded by highlighting the strategic importance of these appointments, stating that Stegemann and Burda will play crucial roles in enhancing the Merkur gaming experience and driving international growth.
