Brazil’s Senate plenary delays regulation vote

The scheduled end of November vote on betting and gaming regulation in Brazil has been pushed back into December, following over 100 amendments to the Bill presented by Senator Angelo Coronel.

The amendments, which include a proposed taxation of fantasy sports on the same level as the 12% on for sports betting and online casino, will now be considered with an expected date before the end of this month – December – expected to be confirmed by President of the Brazilian Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco.

Once the Bill is approved, it will return to the Chamber of Deputies for review, and once the amendments are approved, it will pass to the office of the President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, for signature.
