Esportes da Sorte recently organised the Match-Fixing Prevention Forum, partnering with Sportradar, focusing on sports integrity at Ceará and Náutico Sporting Clubs. This initiative, part of a series of workshops, aims to combat illegal practices and reinforce integrity in sports.
The forum was designed for athletes and technical staff from both men’s and women’s professional teams, including the under-20 squads. It covered topics such as match-fixing definitions, types of fraud, fraudsters’ methods, legal risks and reputational impacts. Participants are equipped with practical guidance on handling suspicious approaches.
Ana Carolina Luna Maçães, Compliance Manager at Esportes Gaming Brasil, says: “This training programme reinforces our commitment to sports integrity and responsible gaming, pillars that guide our actions.
“We believe that education is the best form of prevention, and we want to stand alongside clubs in this joint effort for transparency and the protection of sport.”
Lucas Drubscky, Football Executive at Ceará, adds: “Ceará takes this topic very seriously. The club is an important player in the fight against match-fixing. We act preventively with regular meetings and have a handbook that addresses the topic with our squad.”
Felippe Marchetti, Integrity Partnerships Manager at Sportradar, conducted the sessions. Known for its expertise in sports technology and integrity, Sportradar collaborates with the Brazilian Football Confederation and 17 state federations, monitoring over 10,000 matches annually.
Marchetti stressed the workshops’ role in safeguarding sports integrity: “Raising awareness among athletes and teams is one of the most effective ways to protect competitions from manipulation.
“These workshops are designed to equip participants with the knowledge and tools to recognize threats and act responsibly.”
By hosting these sessions, Esportes da Sorte and Sportradar are taking significant steps towards reinforcing the commitment to integrity and transparency within Brazilian sports.
