Galaxy Resorts Thailand has proposed that gaming areas within the planned Thai Entertainment Complexes should occupy only 5% of the total space. This approach aims to mitigate public concerns and maximize economic benefits.

Kevin Clayton, Chief Brand Officer of Galaxy Resorts Thailand, says: “The remaining 95% of these complexes would be dedicated to hotels, shopping venues, restaurants and non-gaming attractions.

Despite the limited casino footprint, Clayton pointed out that the gaming sections could still generate up to 80% of the revenue, effectively supporting the rest of the development.

“Our goal is to ensure these complexes offer a robust economic ecosystem. By focusing on responsible gambling, we can address public concerns and contribute positively to the economy.”

According to Clayton, public unease largely stems from misconceptions and misinformation. To counter this, Galaxy is committed to implementing strong responsible gambling measures, including staff training and partnerships with counselling organisations.

Entry restrictions will be enforced for individuals with significant debts or those receiving state assistance.

Clayton cautioned against over-regulation, which could stifle investment benefits, concluding: “We operate under international governance standards and are eager to collaborate with Thai authorities to ensure strong safeguards against money laundering and problem gambling.”
