SBC Summit Americas will introduce a Prediction Markets Forum, focusing on the burgeoning vertical of US sports betting. Scheduled for June 11th, the forum will unite industry leaders to discuss the growth of prediction markets, regulatory challenges and future implications for sportsbooks.

This day-long forum is part of the Breakout Stage and will be chaired by sports betting analyst, Patrick Everson.

Since the 2024 Presidential election, prediction markets have gained mainstream attention. Companies like DraftKings, FanDuel and Fanatics are now entering the arena, while platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket rise through athlete sponsorships and league deals. However, legal challenges and inconsistent federal rulings have complicated compliance.

Rasmus Sojmark, Founder & CEO of SBC, says “Prediction markets will define the US market in 2026, but navigating the grey area between financial trading and traditional betting is creating real uncertainty for the sector.”

The introductory session, Prediction Markets 101, led by Dan Zucker, President of Zucker Media Group, will cover the evolution of event contracts from economic hedging to a potential billion-dollar industry, exploring the rapid acceleration of prediction markets and their impact on gambling.

In the session How Sportsbooks are Entering the World of Event Contracts, experts including Dr. Laila Mintas, David Huffman and Dustin Gouker will discuss the strategies of major US operators venturing into prediction markets and the importance of state partnerships.

A Question of Compliance and Integrity will focus on regulatory challenges, with Dan Wallach examining the legal landscape and lawsuits affecting the industry.

Finally, What’s the Future of Futures? will address the long-term effects of prediction markets, featuring insights from Ilya Beylin, Robin D Hanson and Chris Gerlacher. The session will consider the potential impact of Supreme Court scrutiny and the future of land-based operators. The Leaders Stage will feature The Current State of Prediction Markets in the US, where Joshua B. Sterling and Alex Kane will discuss the evolution of prediction markets in North America.

The Prediction Markets Forum is part of SBC Summit Americas’ broader conference, covering a wide range of topics from sports betting to player protection across the Americas.
