Success Universe Group reported a sharp swing to loss in FY2025 after the closure of the satellite casino at Ponte 16 triggered a major impairment charge.
The group posted revenue of HK$59.74m (US$7.62m), up 16.3% year-on-year, while gross profit rose to HK$18.7m ($2.38m).
Despite this improvement, Success Universe recorded a net loss of HK$410.4m ($52.37m), compared with a net profit of HK$93.39m ($11.91m) the previous year.
The reversal was driven largely by an impairment on its interests in Ponte 16 following the casino’s closure in November 2025. The group also reported HK$3.8m ($480,000) in losses from associates linked to the property.
The closure came after changes to Macau’s gaming framework required all satellite casinos to close by December 31st, 2025. Although Success Universe had planned to keep the venue operating until the deadline, concession holder SJM ended the arrangement earlier than expected.
