Wynn Resorts has set its sights on investing in large-scale entertainment complexes in Thailand, aligning with the country’s burgeoning reputation as a premier global tourism locale, enriched by its natural allure, cultural depth and historical significance.
Julapun Amornvivat, Thailand’s Deputy Finance Minister, has disclosed that Wynn Development Ltd, the driving force behind Wynn Resorts, recently engaged in talks with Thai officials to explore the framework and development status of Thailand’s integrated entertainment complex initiative, saying: “The Thai government is pleased that a leading company like Wynn Resorts sees investment potential in Thailand.
“This reflects global confidence in Thailand, not just as a tourism hotspot, but as a major investment destination in the region.”
Chris Gordon, President of Wynn Development, highlighted Wynn Resorts’ commitment to adhering to stringent international standards, particularly in areas like anti-money laundering and gambling addiction prevention.
He also assured that Wynn is eager to contribute global best practices in risk management, underpinned by advanced technologies utilized in the US and other territories.
Thai representatives briefed Wynn Resorts on the forthcoming Entertainment Complex Business Act, which is slated for Parliamentary discussion in July 2025. This legislation aims to establish robust regulations concerning financial oversight, social protections and measures against gambling addiction.
